About Me

Ethan Cole

I am a Toronto strength and physique coach with 15+ years of coaching experience and a kinesiology-based training approach.

I work with beginners, returning lifters, and busy adults who want visible muscle and better strength without random workouts or reckless loading. My coaching blends practical gym experience with movement assessment, exercise physiology, and clear progression.

My goal is simple: help you train hard enough to change, smart enough to recover, and consistently enough to keep the result.

  1. 2004-2008 Bachelor of Kinesiology, University of Toronto

    Study in anatomy, exercise physiology, biomechanics, motor learning, training adaptation, and health behaviour.

  2. 2007-2009 Campus fitness and supervised coaching hours

    Early practical experience with assessment, technique coaching, and safe strength progression before independent practice.

Certifications

  1. 2010 NSCA Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist

    Strength training, periodization, performance principles, and evidence-based program design.

  2. 2012 CSEP Clinical Exercise Physiologist

    Exercise prescription standards, health screening, practical assessment, and work within a defined clinical exercise scope.

My coaching approach

Assess first

Movement quality, injury history, training age, recovery, and schedule shape the plan before volume or intensity goes up.

Progress with intent

Exercises, sets, reps, tempo, and load are chosen for a reason, then adjusted based on performance and recovery.

Stay inside the right scope

I am not a physician or physiotherapist. Medical diagnosis, treatment, or clearance belongs with licensed healthcare professionals.
